Vasir Mountains

The Vasir Mountains loom as a titanic wall, cleaving the Dark Continent from Ralador. Its apexes soar to breathtaking heights, vanishing beyond the reach of mortal eyes. Only the hardiest of creatures can dare to eke out an existence in the frigid, oxygen-starved peaks, many adapting and evolving to the abundance of mana the mountains seem to emanate. Yet despite the treacherous terrain, those remain who still hunger for the riches buried deep within the mountains. Enduring the brutal cold and perilous cliffs, they delve into the rocky earth, driven by the lure of rare minerals and glittering, crystallized mana.

Little is known about the mysteries the Vasir Mountains holds within, as few find themselves a match for the already threatening dangers at the mountains’ base, preferring to abide by the safety of the lower crystal mines than ascend into the deadly unknown. The few explorations that have returned with a degree of success tell of vast networks of caves spread out like a labyrinthine web. While some of these caverns seem to have formed through natural means, others bear a mark of intricate, almost architectural craftsmanship. It is speculated that some ancient race of mountain-dwellers may have carved them out eons ago, but without further exploration to confirm, these can be assumed as nothing more than mere guesswork. 

Driven by the promise of wealth, many mining enterprises have dispatched expeditions into these subterranean passages, only to meet with swift and grisly ends, sharply deterring future attempts. Crystalline golems and wisps, creatures fueled by the potent mana that suffuses the mountains, guard these depths with lethal ferocity, cutting down miners and geologists alike who are unprepared for the rigors of combat. For any who wish to ascend these peaks instead of exploring their insides, an even greater dearth of knowledge greets them with a chilling embrace.
