The First Kingdom

The first and most venerable of the three kingdoms has long been a bastion of scientific progress, championing the cause of human advancement over the magical races through tireless research and development. Under the inspired leadership of Mirakhil Torelli, the smaller human kingdoms were united into a single empire, and his lineage continues to rule to this day from their seat of power in Kalasira, the sprawling capital city that lies at the heart of the first kingdom’s domain. Kalasira teems with life and energy, a veritable hive of scientific activity and innovation. The city’s skyline is dominated by numerous castles, each one a testament to the wealth and power of the old nobility, who have long held sway over the empire’s political and scientific affairs. 

The grandest of these castles belong to the Torelli’s themselves, who have made it their mission to lead humanity to ever-greater heights of achievement. For centuries, the scientific elite of the first kingdom belonged almost exclusively to the nobility, with many of them building sprawling laboratories within their own manors. 

But in recent years, the barriers to entry have been eroded, and an increasing number of commoners have taken up the mantle of scientific inquiry, much to the chagrin of some of the nobles who fear that their long-held privileges may be slipping away.
