General Environment:
COASTAL SEAS
A relic of the Human Kingdom’s first and only attempt at expansion into the lands and waters beyond the Haguriku Mountains, Hikame was once a bustling small city on Agrarian Archipelago’s coast and the edge of Hizaru Magakt.
Founded originally as a settlement for watching and guarding the capital’s northern border, years of inactivity combined with a newfound interest in the seas developed a dangerous complacency within the city, rendering it vulnerable to a large Beastkin ambush long after they believed the area was safe, leaving the city in ruin and few survivors in its wake. The few reclamation efforts following the siege proved unsuccessful, met with swift and brutal defeat, leading to the abandonment of Hikame and what it accomplished.
In its current form, Hikame remains a desolate and overgrown remnant of the city it once was, retaken by nature and overrun with various tribes of Beastkin. Although a few reckless scavengers dare to try their hand at exploring the area, official attempts at recovering the area or the lost research and resources that were in it have not resumed since their defeats in the past.

COASTAL ARCHIPELAGO
Founded by a tribe of humans who rejected the Human Empire’s attempts at coalescence, the city-state Sen Sonami has grown into a significant independent polis, rich in culture and tradition separated from the empire by the mountains that covet them.
In Sen Sonami, the deity Sonami is venerated as the god of Fate and Waves, Sen Sonami is physically centered around what is believed to be the effective birthplace of the god Sonami, its name literally meaning Birthplace of Sonami. Every aspect of the city, from its architecture to its customs and government, reflects these beliefs.
Despite their peaceful nature, the people of Sen Sonami have met hostile opposition from the Human Empire, who viewed their magical practices as heretical and dangerous. Failed forcible attempts at culling their culture in the past has dug a deep hate and chasm between the two.
While the Human Empire has lifted its magic ban and aims to mend ties with Sen Sonami, reconciliation has been slow and ineffective over the years. Tensions persist, and attempts at reconciliation through tourism and trade deals have fallen short.
