Heavily guarded against bandits, Bargon’s residents have adapted to the frigid climate by harnessing heatstones to stay warm.
These magical stones exemplify the resourcefulness of the locals. Bargon’s strategic location and tales of hidden treasures within the Vasir Mountains continue to draw adventurers in search of glory and fortune.

SNOWY MOUNTAINOUS TAIGA
Amid the freezing climate, towering peaks, and countless perils of the inscrutable Vasir Mountains, humanity takes its first bold step into the unknown. The end result of many weeks of arduous exploration beginning on Saekos 16th, 996 A.HE., Shalie sits hundreds of miles into previously uncharted terrain, the first successful attempt at a deep colony in the snowbound expanse. This historic expedition was carried out in joint by a platoon of elite warriors gathered under Houses Aevum, Kailen, and Krenzis. Together, they charted the largest and most comprehensive map of the mountains to date—a map that continues to evolve as they journey deeper into the endless peaks, always returning back to Shaile as the sole sanctuary in the unforgiving frontier.
As a commercial venture, Shaile has proven a moderate success for the participating houses, so far yielding a relatively consistent supply of mana crystals. Presently, a majority of these crystals are harvested from tree-like crystalline formations they have been discovered in areas not too far from the settlement. Their origins and nature remain a mystery, but no two are alike, each varying in size and detail greatly. While most appear sporadically in dense forests, a handful of small groves have been discovered where these glass-like trees cluster together, standing in eerie, otherworldly silence.
The success of Shaile has sparked increased interest in the Vasir Mountains, particularly among adventurers drawn by the promise of wealth and the allure of strange new lifeforms discovered deeper in the range. However, few possess what is needed to contend with the natural forces present high into these peaks, and even fewer dare to challenge them alone. While Shaile selectively recruits adventurers who seek gain a much needed advantage in this harsh frontier, it has deliberately avoided direct partnership with the Adventurers Guild. Operations in the small town remain tightly regulated, both to safeguard the lives of prospective adventurers and the commercial interests of its founders.

MAGICAL LODESTONES
Hidden within the Vasir Mountains, the mysterious Crystal Caverns have long captivated adventurers and scholars with their magical allure. Legends claim these caverns were formed eons ago through a cosmic union of nature and magic, resulting in crystals imbued with potent magical properties.
Tales of the caverns’ wonders have inspired countless expeditions as daring explorers risk life and limb to claim the coveted crystals. Yet, enigmatic creatures fiercely guarded the caverns, their very existence intertwined with the crystals’ magic.
Those who successfully traverse the caverns’ treacherous passages and evade its guardians gain access to the crystals’ power and uncover ancient knowledge. Inscribed on the cavern walls in a forgotten language is the chronicle of a lost civilization that once thrived in harmony with magic and nature.
General Environment:
FROZEN TUNDRA
The Vasir Peaks is the colossal barrier at southern end of Ralador. Nobody is sure what may lay past them, if anything, for few living creatures can survive such high altitudes, struggling for warmth in the stark cold and for the smallest breaths of oxygen.
Some are thrust from the warmth of their mothers’ wombs straight into the freezing cold—the sharpest temperature drop of their lives. For some, it’s enough to claim them right then and there. But for those who call these mountains home, having adapted to harness the mana and survive, the peaks become a vital source of power, crucial to their endurance.
Despite these harsh conditions, many nations have found it difficult to forgo their expeditions into the mountains, allured by the abundant minerals and crystallized mana they continue excavating. Networks of large cave systems run deep throughout the mountains. While some appear to have been carved out haphazardly by nature, others exhibit unnaturally delicate craftsmanship.
